Advancing Russian language learning with linguistic correlates of proficiency

Executive Summary

Based on the results of the study, it is now known which linguistic features L2 learners of Russian need to master, and at what levels, to advance from level 2 to 2+ and from 2+ to 3 on the ILR proficiency scale. Checklists based on these linguistic features will be useful to syllabus designers, materials writers, teachers, testers, and learners in U.S. government language programs.
