CASL 2010-2012 Strategic Plan

The 21st century demands that language analysts across the Intelligence Community (IC) be capable of swiftly collecting and conducting language analysis in a multifaceted and unpredictable threat environment. CASL was founded in recognition of the tremendous potential that language research can bring to the urgent needs of these language professionals. By arming decision makers with independent scientific knowledge, CASL is tackling the most pressing mission needs with the broadest impact. In the next three years, CASL will continue to build on its strategy to:

  • Enable improved operational performance of IC analysts
  • Advance workforce readiness capabilities for both routine and surge operations
  • Provide the knowledge, resources, and technologies critical to job performance
  • Underpin pivotal leadership decisions on immediate and future staffing, technologies, analyst workflow, and management of language-related resources
  • Bring the best of academe and industry to the hardest government problems
